International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year – and this year, TopMBA wants to celebrate the accomplishments of women in business from across industries and sectors.

TopMBA has taken a closer look at QS data to discover which MBA programmes that we've analysed as part of our MBA rankings have the highest proportion of female students.

10) ESIC Business & Marketing School

ESIC’s Global MBA programme takes 20 months to complete.

The hybrid format allows students to personalise and make learning more flexible, through permanent training.

The functional areas of ESIC alumni are:

  • 27 percent international development
  • 26 percent business development
  • 21 percent marketing
  • 14 percent sales

9) The American University in Cairo

Students can take part in the AUC School of Business International Case Competition – the first competition of its kind organised in Egypt. The competition provides students with experience to understand business in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East.

The flat rate is $677 per credit hour for Egyptian students enrolled on the MBA and $735 per credit hour for international students.

8) Sasin School of Management

Sasin offers the Flexible MBA programme that can be completed full-time or part-time.

Full-time is completed in 12-48 months; two courses every four-week module; weekday daytime and evening classes. Whereas part-time, the programme is completed in 24-48 months; one course every four-week module; weekday evening classes.

All MBA students must take at least one Action Learning Lab. Students can choose from the likes of:

  • Sasin-MIT Action Learning Lab
  • Sasin-Fudan Thailand-China Lab
  • Sasin-Tsinghua SEM Thailand-China Lab

7) Clark University

Clark’s MBA offers full- or part-time programmes beginning in either spring, summer (online only), or autumn.

Students must complete 12 course units (nine core courses, three electives) and a professional internship.

MBA concentrations at Clark are:

  • Accounting
  • Expanded Accounting (offers specified courses that prepare you for the CPA exam)
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Information Management and Business Analytics
  • Marketing
  • Social Change and Sustainability

Some student clubs at Clark that are perfect for female MBA students include: Clark’s Women in STEM; Students Advocating for Feminism & Empowerment; Her Campus Clark.

Women who demonstrate exceptional potential for leadership and academic achievement are eligible for scholarship.

6) Loughborough School of Business and Economics

With intakes every October, Loughborough SBE offers three ways to study:

  • Full-time over one year
  • Full-time over two years with 45-52-week internship
  • Or part-time Executive MBA over three years

Loughborough's Careers Network careers centre gives access to a wide range of resources including one-to-one careers consultations, employer presentations, skills workshops, psychometric testing, CV clinics, mock interviews, and consultations with well-placed graduates in the alumni network.

Tuition fees for the whole programme in 2020 totalled £27,500.

5) City University of Hong Kong

Of the 2019/20 MBA intake at City University, students had an average age of 31 with seven years’ work experience.

Students came from a mixture of professional fields:

  • General Management: 31 percent
  • Accounting/Finance: 26 percent
  • Sales/Marketing: 16 percent
  • Business Analysis/Consulting: 6 percent
  • Business Development: 3 percent
  • Legal/R&D: 2 percent

Some standout businesses MBA grads landed jobs at include: Shell (China) Limited; Citibank; DBS (Hong Kong) Bank; HSBC; Mitsubishi Corporation (Hong Kong) Limited; AXA.

Alumni can enjoy regular activities including happy hour gatherings, guest talks, volunteer activities and orientation Dinner for new students are held from time to time. The annual general meeting is held every year.

Of the 13 MBA faculty member for the 202/21 academic year, four are female.

4) ESSEC Business School

ESSEC’s Global MBA is a bi-continental MBA in France and Singapore.

The 12-month full-time MBA programme incorporates two majors/specialisations: Luxury Brand Management, and Strategy & Digital Leadership. Students earn industry-specific skills and knowledge to help in consulting, tech, or luxury industries.

52 percent of grads changed sector, 54 percent changed function, and 42 percent changed country.

Women can obtain the Future Women Leaders scholarship to help with funding, as well as the Diversity & International Experience and High Potential scholarship.

3) Leeds University Business School

The Leeds MBA programme incorporates a number of additional elements, like the MBA project – the culmination of the MBA course.

The project can be organization-base, desk research-based or entrepreneurial in nature. Some recent projects include: The development of a strategic marketing plan within the NHS Foundation Trust; an evaluation of diversification strategies in the motor industry for TAT.

Students can take part in live consulting and new venture challenges, as well as projects, live research in organisations, volunteering and ambassador opportunities.

Both UK and international students will pay £30,750 in tuition.

2) Exeter Business School

The Exeter full-time MBA programme is 12 months in total.

Students can develop an entrepreneurial mindset through a number of initiative including Google’s Techstars Startup Weekend Exeter; the Think, Try Do programme in cooperation with the University of Exeter Innovation Centre; Dragon’s Den exercise – forms part of the optional entrepreneurship module in term three.

Leeds MBA students can enjoy a number of international opportunities, like the week-long Responsible Business in Content module in partnership with the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), and the Leaderships Skills Expedition. And of course, students can utilise the Exeter MBA Consultancy Project.

All students will pay £30,000 in tuition.

1) Yonsei School of Business

And here we have it, the number one MBA programme for the proportion of female students is Yonsei School of Business.

The full-time Global MBA programme is three semesters (18 months) in duration with admission in September.

For the 51 credits (25.5 core credits, 25.5 elective credits), there are an average of four to six classes per week (one class session is three hours). Students will take part in a number of courses including Business Strategy, Economic Analysis, Marketing Management, Organizational Behaviour, an internship and much more.

Tuition for the programme is estimated at US$47,000.
